MAC’s Trend Forecast Fall ’15 Lip Palette gives a treat of autumnal colours – from the palest white, through to deep rich shades. It really does have something for everyone (a cliched statement I know…but true)!
To accompany the lip set, I also picked up a lip brush to apply and a ‘Prep and Prime’ to make sure I get the best from the colours. On advice from the girls in store, it also as ensures the colour stays put. Due to the matte nature of some of the lipsticks, I also make sure that my lips are nice and smooth beforehand, using Lush’s Popcorn Lip Exfoliator.
I’ve taken a photo of what each colour looks like actually on your lips, as I know how tricky it can be to judge from just the Palette. I noticed that there were some reviews on the website that suggested that the colours weren’t as bright as they had hoped. I’ve applied a light coat in these pictures and don’t agree as I think that they all show and look lovely, but if you wanted to, you could build up further for a bolder look.
Starting at the top left corner, we have ‘Ermine’, which is the lightest colour on the Palette. This one for me is just too much on the pale side and probably my least favourite – but that’s just down to personal preference!
On the bottom row there is another red shade (‘She Devil’), however instead of the brownish red tones of the one above, it is more in line with a traditional deep red shade.
Hopefully the photos above give you a better idea of how the colours look when applied. If your hesitating on whether to go for for it, I would recommend it – both for the colours and the long lasting wear.
If you do decide to purchase, let me know your thoughts! 😀
