Following the call of the disco ball this weekend, we went back to the 70s and created some retro looks with fantastic clothing and accessories from The Closet – Vintage Aberdeen.
Look Number 1 was a huge tan suede poncho teamed with some Levi’s denim hot pants, cowboy boots and a gorgeous turquoise necklace.
The models hair (I had major hair envy!) was kept super sleek and to compliment the colours of the clothes and accessories, I went for neutral eyes and some MAC purple lipstick to give a bit of colour.
We kept the hair and makeup the same for a quick outfit change to this AMAZING tan jacket (a definite favourite of mine from the shoot) and a striped blue shirt with the Levi shorts.
Look Number 3 involved some high waisted and seriously flared Levi jeans, with a green & red paisley patterned shirt, topped with a beautiful green felt hat – pheasant feather included!! 😍
With the hairstylist adding some loose waves to her hair, I changed her make up to include some green shadow to compliment the colour of the shirt. Starting the look with a nude lipstick, I changed it after a couple of pictures to a pillar box red, which tied in better with the styling.
On to Look 4 which was a silk maxi dress with a beach scene print. Holding my hands up, I wasn’t sure on this dress when I saw it on the hanger but holy smooooookers, this looked good on.
Styling wise I chose a pink lippie to match a key colour on the dress. Using an Estée Lauder fuschia Lipstick, I added a Benefit gloss over the top and darkened the eyes slightly. Hair took it up another notch, adding in a ridiculously cute bow in a pink colour (keeping with the theme here! 😉) and adding a bit of volume.
Look 5 was lots of fun to do and with a black and gold 70s disco jumpsuit (tying at the back of the neck) hair and make up were able to go to town!
Sticking with the colours, I used MACs Paint Pot and applied over her lid before adding some loose gold glitter pigment (MAC again!) and darkening up the outer corners of the top lid and lower lashline with Bobbi Brown’s Paris Pallete (review on this coming soon).
Hair went for a Bridget Bardot inspired look, but unfortunately as we were running short on time, I don’t have a behind the scenes shot of this one – you will just have to make sure you follow me on Twitter or Instagram to see the final pics when the come out!
Till then, here’s one more pic…. 😉😘
